As I was browsing one thrift blogger's site, I saw a Pyrex bowl as part of their haul and I was immediately drawn to it. It was so colourful and beautiful so I had to find out more. The more I looked, the more I loved! So the addiction began. I started going to thrift stores at least a few times a week just to go Pyrex hunting. It was only a week in when I found one! It was in a Salvation Army store and was coated in baked on grease but the beautiful blue was peaking out from underneath. I wasn't sure if I could clean it properly but when the cashier agreed to discount it from $4.99 to $2.99 I had to have it. After doing some research on how to safely clean Pyrex, I was able to clean this baby up with a good soaking, scrubbing with baking soda and a little help from a few toothpicks and the magic eraser. I discovered one chip and a few small spots of colour loss but overall it is in good condition. I just love the colour!
Very nice clean up job!! Like this dish!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jill. I think I spent a couple hours on it altogether...my husband had never seen me clean anything like that before so he was pretty amused.
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks for being my first comment! I didn't really expect anyone to be reading my blog yet :)
